Our client, a global financial services firm and a market leader in securities, asset management and credit services, is seeking a Hadoop Administrator/ Engineer.

Responsibilities
- Manage several Hadoop clusters in development and production environments
- Monitoring and troubleshooting of hardware and software services
- Install new software releases, system upgrades, patches, and evaluation of stability
- Tuning of servers, applications and Hadoop infrastructure
- Work with users, engineering groups, and vendor support for troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Strong UNIX/Linux knowledge including the ability to understand the interaction between applications, HW, and operating system and to provide recommendations and suggestions related to troubleshooting and performance improvement.
- Experience with the Cloudera Hadoop distribution
- Experience with Hive, MapReduce, YARN, Spark, Sentry, Oozie, Sqoop, Flume, HBase, Impala, etc.
- Experience troubleshooting applications and application code
- Experience with cluster maintenance tasks such as creation and removal of nodes, cluster monitoring and troubleshooting
- Strong experience in Unix Shell, Perl, and python scripting
