About the Role
Join the Data and AI Technology (DAT) Engineering team, which supports BMO’s Digital-First initiatives by building data and AI products that deliver actionable insights and drive business outcomes. This diverse team collaborates across the bank to solve complex challenges using cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and support of data and AI products.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into data and AI solutions.
- Provide input on technical designs, ensuring alignment with standards and roadmaps.
- Accelerate development by building frameworks, automation scripts, and reusable code.
- Identify, track, and perform regression testing on defects.
- Support production issues and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance delivery and deployment capabilities.
Required Skills
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and IT education and/or certification(s).
- Experience with ETL/ELT development/testing and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, Scala.
- Experience with SSIS, Glue, cloud storage/computing services (AWS, Azure), Hadoop, and Netezza.
- Familiarity with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets in batch and streaming formats.
- Experience in data analysis, data modeling, data mapping, and data profiling.
- Knowledge of AI concepts, GenAI, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI-powered tools in SDLC.
- Strong understanding of technical/business environments and processes.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies, including JIRA.
- Critical thinking, communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
