About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Java and Scala to join our global team. The successful candidate will manage the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to production deployment and DevOps automation, contributing to diverse projects with continuous learning opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Parallelize and optimize accounting calculations using Apache Spark.
- Build and maintain backend RESTful web services based on established contracts.
- Manage batch data processing workflows focusing on orchestration, performance, and stability.
- Collaborate with global teams located in Montreal, New York, London, Budapest, and India.
Required Skills
- 15+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java (Spring framework) and Scala.
- Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, DB2) and Big Data repositories (Hadoop, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with modern SDLC practices including Agile methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Apache Spark for parallel data processing.
- UNIX/Linux application debugging skills.
- Automation scripting experience (AutoSys, UNIX shell scripting, Perl, Python) for DevOps.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Domain experience in accounting, finance, or business reporting.
- Understanding of data science concepts.
