About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in enhancing Akamai’s core platform services. This position focuses on designing and developing DevOps tools to support 100% uptime and ensure 99.9% performance reliability across the data streaming infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design and develop highly available, scalable, and high-performance systems
Improve and support data streaming services used for performance data analysis
Create and maintain DevOps tools to streamline software delivery
Build tools and processes for monitoring, observability, and usability of streaming pipelines
Implement automation to reduce manual operational work

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
Over 5 years of experience in software development (using Golang, Python, C/C++, or Java)
5+ years working with distributed systems and Linux networking (TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, HTTP)
Minimum 3 years of experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet
Experience with observability platforms like Prometheus and DataDog
Familiarity with big data technologies including Hadoop and Spark
Strong skills in bash scripting, SQL, and REST API design
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
