As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC’s Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; or Birmingham, AL.

Job Requirements

  • Strong foundation in Python programming and SQL.
  • Proficient in the Hadoop ecosystem (e.g., HDFS, Hive, Spark).
  • Proficient in the Neo4j ecosystem (e.g., Browser, Cypher, Bloom).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, GLBA).
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Exposure to banking data types (e.g., transactions, customer profiles, risk metrics).
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Job Description

  • Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.
  • Proposes and designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
  • Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
  • Facilitates complex problem resolution.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
  • Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role. The following competencies, experience, education, and certifications are required or preferred:



  • Agile Methodology, Application Development, Business Management, Customer Solutions, Data Governance, Design, Group Problem Solving, Hadoop Ecosystem, Process Improvements, Python (Programming Language), Release Management, Software Solutions, User Experience (UX) Design.
  • Application Delivery Process, Application Design, Architecture, Application Development Tools, Application Testing, Packaged Application Integration, System Development Life Cycle, Technical Troubleshooting.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (or portfolio of education, certifications, and experience).
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of relevant direct industry experience.
  • Certifications: Desired but not required.
  • Licenses: None required.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $63,250 – $158,700. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with payment based on company, business and/or individual performance.
