Job Summary – Hadoop Administration/Support
- Role: 100% Production Support (with on-call duties; L3 support)
- Location: Plano, TX / Kennesaw, GA / Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
- Duration: 18 months (possible extension)
- Experience: 9+ years overall; strong financial industry experience required
- Interviews: 1-2 Webex rounds
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3 production support for Hadoop/Big Data systems, including on-call rotation (1 week/month, 12pm–8pm, remote).
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related and infrastructure issues using Hadoop, Linux scripting, PL/SQL, and PySpark.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes (Informatica, SSIS, etc.).
- Support and troubleshoot the Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem (Hadoop FS, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Hue, Oozie, Yarn, Sqoop, Flume).
- Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts, PL/SQL procedures, and PySpark code.
- Analyze issues in real-time production environments and provide quick, effective solutions.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Information Architecture, development, QA, and other support teams (L2, upstream, downstream partners).
- Participate in project meetings, requirement gathering, and high-level/detailed solution design.
- Propose technical solutions, process improvements, and technology adoption ideas.
- Ensure adherence to process, quality standards, and best practices.
- After initial period, participate in development activities and drive technical deliveries (especially with offshore teams).
Must-Have Skills
- Hadoop ecosystem (including Spark, Hive, Impala)
- PySpark
- Linux/Unix shell scripting
- PL/SQL (including stored procedures)
- ETL tools & processes (Informatica, SSIS, etc.)
- Autosys JIL scripting
- Experience in troubleshooting and production support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good-to-Have Skills
- Python/Scala programming
- Perl scripting
- Experience with large-scale data processing (MapReduce)
- Data extraction and transformation technologies
- Prior banking/finance domain experience
Soft Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a matrix team (onshore/offshore)
- Quick decision‑making in critical situations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Willingness to work occasional weekends (with comp‑off)
